Soybeans are used in a diverse array of food and industrial products. Price stability is essential for business that rely on soybeans for manufacturing. Global supplies fluctuate continuously due to planting and weather conditions. There are two contract denominations available for trade:
- ZS trades in units of 5,000 bushels
The minimum price fluctuation is ¼ (0.25¢) per bushel ($12.50 per contract).
- XK (minibeans) trades in units of 1,000 bushels
The minimum price fluctuation is ¼ (0.25¢) per bushel ($2.50 per contract).
Maximum Daily Price Fluctuation is 70 cents.

The soybean futures contract is available to trade via the CME Globex trading platform. Open outcry trading is conducted 7:30AM PT through 11:15AM PT. Electronic trading is available during open outcry trading as well as 4:00PM PT through 4:00AM PT.
Trading example: If you were to purchase 1 contract of ZS at 1200, and the next day it moves to 1210, you would have a profit of $500. Inversely, if it were to move down to 1190, you would have a loss of $500.
