Today, silver is sought as a valuable practical industrial commodity, and as an appealing investment. There are two contract denominations available for trade:
SYMBOL:
- SI trades in units of 5,000 troy ounces.
The minimum price fluctuation is $0.005 (0.5¢) per troy ounce ($25.00 per contract).- QI (mini silver) trades in units of 2,500 troy ounces.
The minimum price fluctuation is $0.0125 per troy ounce ($31.25 per contract).
Maximum Daily Price Fluctuation is $0.25 per ounce.

Margin requirements are subject to change, and are required for open futures positions.
Both Silver futures contracts available for trading on the CME Globex trading platform, and the Chicago Board of Trade. Open outcry is conducted from 5:20AM PT until 10:00AM PT. Electronic trading is conducted from 3:00PM PT until 2:15PM PT, with only a 45 minute break each day.
